Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is a specialized field of dentistry focused on enhancing the appearance of a person’s teeth and smile. It includes procedures like teeth whitening, veneers, dental bonding, gum contouring, and even dental implants. Cosmetic dentists aim to improve the aesthetics of teeth, addressing issues like discoloration, misalignment, and gaps, but we take it a step further to address your entire bite, function and facial profile! These procedures can boost self-confidence and create a more attractive and symmetrical smile. It’s important to note that while cosmetic dentistry primarily focuses on appearance, it can also have functional benefits.

Virtual Smile Design

Virtual Smile Design has become an essential tool in cosmetic dentistry. It combines computer software and 3D imaging to create a virtual representation of a patient’s smile, allowing both the dental practitioner and the patient to see and plan the desired results to create beautiful smiles while ensuring that the procedures are as minimally invasive as possible.

Digital Imaging & Smile Analysis

VSD uses digital scans and images of a patient’s teeth and mouth to create a highly detailed and accurate digital model of their smile. This can include intraoral scans, dental X-rays, and facial photographs. Dentists and orthodontists use specialized software to analyze and manipulate these digital models. They can assess factors such as tooth alignment, color, shape, and size to determine what changes are needed to achieve the desired smile.

Customization & Treatment Planning

Patients can actively participate in the design process by discussing their preferences and goals with the dental professional. This customization allows for a more patient-centric approach to cosmetic dental procedures. Once the desired smile design is agreed upon, the software helps the dental professional plan the necessary treatments. This may include procedures such as teeth whitening, dental veneers, braces, or dental implants.

Visualization & Communication

One of the primary benefits of VSD is that it enables patients to see a realistic representation of what their smile will look like after the proposed treatments. This visualization helps manage expectations and can increase patient satisfaction. VSD also facilitates communication between the dental team and the patient. It ensures that both parties have a clear understanding of the treatment plan, reducing the chances of misunderstandings or surprises during the actual procedures.

Efficient & Minimally Invasive

By having a precise plan in place before starting any dental work, Virtual Smile Design can often streamline the treatment process, reducing the number of appointments and chair time required. VSD encourages a conservative approach to cosmetic dentistry, where the least amount of tooth structure is removed or modified to achieve the desired results.

Digital Smile Design by 3Shape
We manage every aspect of your smile makeover from conception to completion below

The First Step

We use our technology and experience to plan the best treatment for you. A dental health professional will sit down with you to find out what you would like to achieve and to make recommendations for improving your smile. Options may include whitening, one or more veneers or crowns, or a complete bite reconstruction including computer guided dental implants and fixed prosthetics.

The Second Step

Once you are satisfied with your options and have made the best decision for your needs, we can show you what your new smile will look like. Using the latest smile design software, we can simulate your new smile and allow you to see a preview before you get started.

The Third Step

Your teeth are prepared for permanent crowns or veneers. The smallest possible amount of enamel is removed to prepare your tooth for your new veneer or crown. Your comfort is our top priority. A second scan of your prepared teeth is taken using another digital scanner. No gooey impressions needed! A temporary veneer or crown is made right at your side while the digital file is sent to the in-house lab to make your permanent crowns or veneers.

Dental Implants in Cosmetic Dentistry

Dental implants play a crucial role in cosmetic smile makeovers by providing a natural and attractive solution for missing teeth. These titanium posts are surgically placed into the jawbone to support prosthetic teeth, offering stability and a lifelike appearance. Dental implants can enhance the aesthetics of a smile by filling gaps, improving overall symmetry, and restoring a confident and appealing look. They also promote oral health by preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure. Porcelain Crowns & Veneers

Vitality Patient before and after veneers

What are Porcelain Crowns?

Porcelain crowns are custom made “caps” of porcelain that can be bonded to your teeth to repair chipped or broken teeth as well as improve the color of your teeth. Crowns cover the entire surface of the tooth. They improve the look of your smile by changing the colour, shape, angle and spacing of your teeth. Crowns are routinely used to fix teeth that are root canal treated, discoloured, stained, worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, uneven and irregularly shaped.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin custom made “shells” of porcelain that can be bonded to your teeth to repair chipped or broken teeth as well as improve the color of your teeth. Veneers are applied to the entire front surface of the tooth. They improve the look of your smile by changing the colour, shape, angle and spacing of your teeth. Veneers are routinely used to fix teeth that are discoloured, stained, worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, uneven and irregularly shaped.

The Digital Difference

Our in-house laboratory and technology means accurate and quick service. Our 3D smile design software allows us to show you what your new smile will look like in about 30 minutes. The on-site cosmetic team have the experience and the technology to colour match your veneers and crowns so they blend in and look natural. An intraoral digital scanner replaces the need for dental impressions and gives us incredibly precise 3D models of your teeth.

Zoom! Tooth Whitening

What is it?

Zoom teeth whitening is a professional teeth whitening treatment that uses a special light-activated gel to whiten teeth. The treatment is performed in a dental office and typically takes around one hour to complete.

How does it work?

Our light-accelerated in-office treatment can whiten your teeth up to 8 shades* in a single visit! The Zoom teeth whitening process begins with a thorough cleaning of the teeth to remove any surface stains and debris. The dentist or dental hygienist will then apply a hydrogen peroxide gel to the teeth and activate it with a special Zoom light. This light helps to penetrate the gel deep into the teeth, breaking down stains and discoloration and leaving the teeth looking brighter and whiter. *Results can vary based on your individual situation.

Is it for me?

It’s important to note that Zoom teeth whitening may not be suitable for everyone, and some people may experience sensitivity or discomfort during or after the treatment. It’s always best to consult with a dental professional before undergoing any teeth whitening treatment, including over-the-counter whitening agents, to determine the best option for your individual needs

Take-Home Kits

We fabricate custom made trays to fit your teeth for our take-home Zoom! Whitening kits. We provide you with a gel solution specially formulated for customized whitening during the day or night.
