Understanding implant pricing

Why implant costs vary — and what to expect

Dental implant pricing in Canada varies widely because each case is different. The number of implants, the condition of your bone, whether preparatory procedures like bone grafting or extractions are needed, and the type of restoration all affect the final cost.

The ranges below reflect typical fees at Dentistry at Vitality Health. Your exact quote is provided in writing at your complimentary consultation after a 3D CBCT scan of your jaw — so you know the full cost before any treatment begins.

Typical fee ranges

Implant pricing at Vitality Health

Single tooth implant (implant + abutment + crown)

Replaces one missing tooth. Does not include bone grafting if required.

$3,500 – $6,000

Implant-supported bridge (3-unit, 2 implants)

Replaces 2–3 adjacent missing teeth without crowning healthy neighbours.

$7,000 – $12,000

Implant-supported denture (overdenture, 2–4 implants)

Stabilises a removable denture. Price depends on implant count and denture type.

$12,000 – $18,000

Full-arch fixed implants (All-on-4 / All-on-6)

Replaces an entire arch with a fixed, non-removable bridge on 4–6 implants.

$18,000 – $36,000 per arch

Bone grafting (if required)

Needed when bone volume is insufficient to support an implant.

$500 – $3,000

Sinus lift (if required)

Required for upper-jaw implants when sinus proximity limits bone height.

$1,500 – $3,500

All ranges are estimates. Exact fees depend on individual anatomy and any preparatory procedures required. Insurance coverage varies by plan. An itemised quote is provided at your complimentary consultation.

What affects your quote

Factors that influence the final cost

Number of implants

Each implant post, abutment, and crown is priced individually. Replacing multiple teeth with a bridge or arch restoration reduces the per-tooth cost.

Bone volume and quality

Patients with bone loss may require grafting or a sinus lift before implant placement, adding to the total treatment cost and timeline.

Type of restoration

A single porcelain crown, an implant bridge, a removable overdenture, and a fixed full-arch bridge each carry different laboratory and material costs.

Sedation preference

IV sedation is available for anxious patients or complex cases. This adds an anaesthesia fee to the surgical appointment.

Computer-guided surgery

Guided placement using a 3D surgical stent improves accuracy and reduces recovery time, but adds planning and fabrication costs.

Preparatory extractions

If failing teeth need to be removed before implant placement, extraction fees are included in the treatment plan quote.

Insurance coverage

Does insurance cover dental implants?

Most Canadian dental insurance plans classify implants as a major restorative procedure. Coverage varies significantly by plan — some cover a portion of the crown or abutment; others exclude implants entirely.

Our treatment coordinators will review your insurance benefits before your consultation and provide a pre-determination letter to your insurer on request, so you know exactly what will be covered before treatment begins.

Payment options

Flexible financing available

We offer in-house payment plans and third-party financing through iFinance Dental, with terms up to 84 months and low-interest options. Many patients find monthly payments more manageable than a single lump sum.

Financing can be arranged at your consultation appointment. Approval is typically same-day, and treatment can begin as soon as you are ready.

Common questions

Implant Cost FAQs

Why are dental implants more expensive than dentures or bridges?

Implants replace the tooth root as well as the visible crown, requiring a surgical procedure and a longer treatment timeline. The materials — titanium implant post, custom abutment, and porcelain crown — are also more costly than denture acrylic or a traditional bridge. However, implants typically last 20+ years with proper care, making them cost-effective over the long term.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your initial consultation at Dentistry at Vitality Health is complimentary and includes a 3D CBCT scan of your jaw. You will receive a written, itemised treatment plan with no obligation to proceed.

Can I use my dental insurance for implants?

Coverage depends on your plan. Some plans cover the crown portion; others cover nothing. We will review your benefits and submit a pre-determination to your insurer before treatment begins so there are no surprises.

What financing options are available?

We offer in-house payment plans and third-party financing through iFinance Dental, with terms up to 84 months. Low-interest and deferred-payment options are available. Approval is typically same-day.

Are there cheaper implant options I should consider?

Implant costs vary between clinics. Very low-cost implants often use lower-grade components or involve less diagnostic planning. At Vitality Health, we use premium implant systems with 3D CBCT planning and in-house bone grafting capability — factors that significantly affect long-term success rates.

Does the price include bone grafting?

Bone grafting is quoted separately because not every patient requires it. Your 3D CBCT scan will determine whether grafting is needed, and the cost will be included in your written treatment plan.
