Areas we serve
Patients travel to our Markham practice from across the Greater Toronto Area, and a good number from further out. Below is what the journey looks like from each direction, and what people most often make it for.
From the east
Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa.
Highway 401 to the 407, or Highway 2 through Pickering. Most patients from this direction reach us in thirty to forty-five minutes outside rush hour.
From the west and north
Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Aurora, Stouffville.
Highway 407 east to Warden or Kennedy. From Richmond Hill and Vaughan the drive is usually under half an hour.
From Toronto
North York, Scarborough, Thornhill, Milliken.
Highway 404 or Victoria Park north, or the 401 east to the 404. Milliken and Thornhill are close enough that many patients come on a lunch break.
Markham and Unionville
Markham, Unionville.
We are on Highway 7 East, a few minutes from Main Street Unionville. This is where most of our patients live.

What patients travel for
Most of the people who come to us from outside Markham come for implant or full-mouth work, which is planned and made here rather than sent out. It is worth the drive because it is not treatment every practice offers.
The neighbourhoods closest to us
We are on Highway 7 East near Kennedy Road, which puts us within a short drive of most of central and eastern Markham. Patients come regularly from Unionville, Markham Village, Berczy, Wismer, Greensborough, Cathedraltown, Angus Glen, Cachet and Milliken.
From most of those the drive is ten to twenty minutes. Thornhill and Richmond Hill are usually twenty to thirty. Stouffville comes down Highway 48 in about twenty-five.
What arriving actually involves
If you are driving any distance, the small things matter more than the map.
- Parking is free and directly outside. No garage, no meters, and no circling. You park, you walk in.
- Twelve languages are spoken at the practice — English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian, Hebrew, Greek, Macedonian, Hindi, Gujarati, Russian, Korean and French. If English is not the language you would rather discuss treatment in, say so when you book.
- Hours run early and late. We open at eight on Tuesday and Thursday, stay until seven on Monday and Thursday, until eight on Wednesday, and open Saturday mornings from eight until two. If a long drive only works outside office hours, there is usually a slot that fits.
Why some people drive past a closer practice
For a cleaning, most people reasonably go to whoever is nearest. The journeys that tend to be longer are the ones where the treatment needs more than one kind of clinician, and where having them in one building changes how the work is done.
- An oral and maxillofacial surgeon on site, so a surgical stage does not mean a referral to another office with its own waiting list and its own records.
- A dental anaesthesiologist on site, which is what makes IV sedation available here rather than somewhere else.
- An orthodontist in the same practice, so a case that needs teeth moved before they are restored is planned by people who talk to each other.
- An in-house digital laboratory, which is why a crown can be made and fitted in one appointment instead of over two visits a fortnight apart.
That last point is the practical one for anyone travelling. Work that would normally take two trips often takes one.
Planning treatment around a longer drive
Some treatment is a single visit. Some is a sequence over months. It is worth knowing which before you start, because it changes how many journeys you are agreeing to.
- One visit: an examination, a cleaning, most fillings, and a same-day crown.
- Two or three visits: veneers, a bridge, root canal treatment.
- Several visits over months: dental implants, which need healing time between the surgical and the restorative stages, and orthodontic treatment, which needs periodic adjustment.
We will tell you the shape of it at the consultation, and where visits can sensibly be combined, we will combine them. Ask about it — if you are coming from Oshawa or Newmarket it is a reasonable thing to plan around.
Common questions
Do you take patients from outside Markham?+
Yes. A good proportion of the practice travels in from Toronto, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Stouffville and the Durham municipalities, and some from further out again for implant and full-arch treatment.
Is there parking?+
Yes, free and directly outside the building. There is no garage to navigate and no meter to feed.
Can I be seen outside working hours?+
Often. We open at eight on Tuesday and Thursday, run until seven or eight on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and open on Saturday mornings from eight until two.
Can someone explain treatment to me in a language other than English?+
Twelve languages are spoken at the practice, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian, Hebrew, Greek, Macedonian, Hindi, Gujarati, Russian, Korean and French. Mention it when you book and we will make sure the right person is available.
Can you combine appointments if I am travelling a distance?+
Where the treatment allows it, yes. Tell us how far you are coming and we will plan the sequence around that rather than around our own convenience.
