Implant Dentistry

Your implant journey, step by step

Implant treatment unfolds across several stages over several months. Here is exactly what each one involves, so nothing about the process comes as a surprise.

The six steps

1

Consultation & Planning

A complimentary consultation including a 3D CBCT scan that assesses bone volume, nerve position, and the anatomy of the implant site. We review the findings with you and build a treatment plan with cost estimates attached.

2

Preparatory Procedures

Some patients need bone grafting or gum disease treatment before implants can be placed. Grafts typically require three to six months of healing before the site is ready — this stage is skipped entirely where it is not needed.

3

Implant Placement

Computer-guided surgery transfers the digital plan to your mouth with sub-millimetre precision. Local anesthesia is standard; IV sedation is available with our staff anaesthesiologist.

4

Healing & Integration

Osseointegration — the biological fusion of implant to jawbone — typically takes three to six months. Provisional restorations maintain appearance and function throughout, so you are not without teeth.

5

Final Restoration

Once integrated, a digital scan captures the exact implant positions. CAD software designs your permanent crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthetic, and it is fabricated in our in-house lab.

6

Maintenance

Long-term success depends on brushing, flossing, and regular examinations using implant-specific instruments. This stage never really ends, and it is the one that determines whether you get twenty years or thirty.

Why it takes as long as it does

The single longest phase — integration — is pure biology. Bone grows into the microscopic surface texture of the implant at its own pace, and there is no way to hurry it without compromising the result.

Everything else has been compressed as far as technology allows. Digital planning removes guesswork, guided surgery removes trial and error, and in-house fabrication removes the weeks that outsourcing adds.
