What are All-on-6 implants?
A complete arch of teeth replaced with a fixed, non-removable prosthesis supported by six implants — for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth.
The difference between All-on-6 and All-on-4 is simply the number of implants — but the consequences of that difference are not trivial.
Six implants provide greater stability, more even load distribution, and an added safety margin. Concretely: if you lose one implant out of six, you have lost 17 percent of your support. Lose one out of four and you have lost 25 percent. That is the gap between an inconvenience and a problem.
The three phases
Consultation
3D imaging of your jaw, and a treatment plan built around your specific bone volume, bite, and expectations.
Implant Placement
Six implants positioned strategically across the arch, with same-day temporary teeth fitted so you are never without.
Final Restoration
After four to six months of integration, the permanent prosthesis is fitted.
Who it suits
Missing Most or All Teeth
Patients whose remaining teeth are failing or already gone across an entire arch.
Frustrated Denture Wearers
Anyone tired of adhesive, slipping, restricted diet, and the palate coverage that removable dentures require.
Sufficient Bone — Or Willing to Graft
Adequate bone volume is needed. Where it is short, grafting can rebuild it before placement.
How long it lasts
With proper care and regular maintenance, All-on-6 implants can last twenty years or more — for many patients, a lifetime.
The prosthesis sitting on those implants is a separate matter. It may need adjustment or eventual replacement over that period, which is normal and considerably simpler than replacing the implants themselves.
