Your Recovery Journey
Recovery Timeline Q&A
From consultation to final bridge delivery typically takes 4-6 months. This includes digital planning, surgery day (where teeth-in-a-day applies), and the healing/osseointegration period before your final permanent prosthesis is delivered.
Many patients return to desk-based work within 3-5 days. If your job involves physical labor or speaking extensively, wait until you feel comfortable. Everyone's recovery timeline varies based on the extent of the procedure and your overall health.
By the end of week 2, most patients can return to softer normal foods. By week 4, you can gradually introduce firmer foods. However, avoid very hard or sticky foods for several weeks. Your clinical team will provide specific guidance based on your healing progress.
Your dentist will prescribe pain medication and antibiotics to prevent infection. Some patients find over-the-counter pain relievers sufficient after the first few days. Follow all instructions provided by your clinical team.
Gentle rinsing as directed is appropriate from day 1. Brushing around the surgical sites resumes gradually. Your temporary prosthesis should not be removed — it is a functional restoration that serves during the healing phase.
Once integration is confirmed through imaging (typically 4-6 months after surgery), the final prosthesis is designed and fabricated. Digital impressions are taken and your permanent teeth-in-a-day restoration is attached, completing your treatment.
